After the official Word templates for theses of UiT The Arctic University of Norway (Masteroppgave and PhD, Bokmål and English, uit.no/studenter/oppgaveskriving), the PhD thesis also after the University's rules for the doctoral thesis. A master's thesis or a PhD thesis, in Norwegian (Bokmål) or English, with the front page, the contents, the lists of tables and figures, a foreword (Forord) and an optional abstract on pages of their own, every chapter on a new page, headings in Arial and the text in Times New Roman 12 pt with one and a half line spacing (PhD 1.2), captions and tables in the style of the templates, the page number "Side 1 av 4" ("Page 1 of 4" in English) in the footer, the references (Referanseliste, Works cited) and the appendices (Vedlegg). The PhD thesis is set for printing on both sides: page 2 blank, the title page on page 3, chapters on an odd page, the text in 12 pt as the rules ask. Without the University's logo: the front page carries the name of the University as text instead.
