Lienhard V wrote at the request of the MIT Libraries to their Specifications for Thesis Preparation, ported under the MIT licence, in English, on US Letter paper, with the title page with the degree statement, the copyright notice, the licence to MIT and the signature block, the thesis committee page, the abstract page, the acknowledgments, the table of contents, the lists of figures and tables, chapters on right-hand pages (optional), the appendices and numbered citations.
