Follows the rules of Leiden University (community template PhD Thesis Template Leiden University (LIACS), Sander van Rijn, CC BY 4.0; not an official template of the University). The University prescribes the title page and the required parts of the dissertation (proefschrift), not the page layout, which follows the community template. The title page in the wording of the model of January 2026 (model titelblad) with the rector magnificus and the date and time of the defence, always in Dutch; on its reverse the promotors, co-promotors and the doctorate committee with their affiliations, the publication details and the funder at the foot. B5, two-sided, Latin Modern 10 pt with one and a half line spacing, the table of contents, chapters on a right-hand page under Chapter 1, running heads over a rule, appendices, the bibliography, the summaries in English and in Dutch with the title translated, acknowledgements, the curriculum vitae last and an optional separate sheet with the propositions (stellingen). In English or Dutch, without the University's logo.
