A dissertation for the Freie Universität Berlin following the University's thesis rules (MLJ Solutions' own template; neither the University nor its departments publish a template). The title page and its back in the wording of the University Library's sample (Muster-Dissertationstitelblatt), always in German, with a switch for the samples of the Departments of History and Cultural Studies and of Education and Psychology and for the items the doctoral regulations of the Department of Veterinary Medicine require on the title page. The thesis in German or English in a neutral book layout, which the University leaves open. A4, two-sided with 10 mm for the binding, Times (Liberation Serif) at 11 pt on lines 15 pt apart, chapters on right-hand pages, the chapter in the running head over a rule. The title page with the degree, the department, the year of submission, the reviewers and the day of the disputation, the acknowledgements, the contents, the lists of figures and tables, the bibliography, the appendices and, in the appendix as the doctoral regulations ask, the summaries in German and English, the list of publications, an optional CV and the declaration of independent work in the wording of the form of the Departments of Mathematics, Computer Science and Physics. Citations in APA; in mathematics, computer science and the natural sciences IEEE is more usual, and it can be chosen in the document's settings. Without the University's logo and seal, which the University forbids on theses.
